About Jung:

Jung Jang grew up in Korea, where he studied vocal performance and graduated from the Presbyterian College in Seoul.  He came to the United States in 2003, to study vocal performance and pedagogy (teaching) at the prestigious Westminster Choir College,  in Princeton, NJ, where he earned a masters degree.  His interest in ministry in the church led him to earn a second masters degree from New York Theological Seminary, in NYC.  In 2008, he was admitted to the University of Washington as a candidate for a doctorate in Musical Arts in Voice Performance.  He looks forward to completing this in the near future.

Jung has performed numerous times as a tenor soloist, and conducted choirs in both the U.S. and Korea.  He has served as choir director, praise team leader, and organist at several churches, including First Presbyterian Church of Snohomish.  He spent the last two years teaching voice and other music classes at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas and recently returned to the Pacific Northwest to serve as Music Director at First United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon, WA.  One day he hopes to return again to teaching in the college setting.

Jung enjoys helping singers of all experience levels, improve technique and develop their voice.  He also is a highly capable pianist and enjoys teaching piano.  Jung has a wife who works as a social worker for Snohomish County and  a five year old daughter who brings him great joy and has also taught him the names of all the Disney princesses.   He is patient, gentle, and kind, and able to relate well to learners of all ages and abilities.  He will help students develop stronger musical skills in a positive and affirming manner.
